Coronado High School (CHS) is the fourth-oldest high school in District 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, named for Francisco Vásquez de Coronado. CHS currently has a student body of 1,515. Coronado High School is located high on Mesa Road and Fillmore Street, on a mesa overlooking Colorado Springs, with a view of Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods. The school's colors are scarlet red and new gold, and the mascot is the Cougar. Coronado students produce a weekly television show for the student body, which is downloadable from the school's (podcast ). Coronado students also produce a monthly newspaper for the Coronado community, the Cougar Chronicle. The school currently competes at the 4-A athletics level in every sport except football (3-A) and wrestling (5-A).
